Jim Burns

Jim is married to Phyllis.  They were married at the Macon Road church on August 25, 1967.  They met through combined activities of the Raleigh and Macon Road youth groups.  Their children are Steve (Laura) and Beth (Lewis Bramlett) and their grandchildren are Jaylin Burns, Andrew Bramlett and Daniel Bramlett.

Jim became an elder at the Raleigh congregation in 1990 and that carried over when we moved to become Bartlett Woods.

Through the years he says he has been blessed to serve with some Godly men and he still does today.  Jim shares that some from previous years have gone on to their heavenly reward, but he still has been rewarded from having been with them.  Their faith and wisdom continue to be a blessing to Jim.

When Jim was young, he became interested in amateur radio (ham radio) because of one of the Raleigh members, Dick Jones (Cathy Chambers' dad).  He still follows that hobby today.  He's had a ham radio operator's license since about 1980.  Although Jim doesn't actively participate on the airwaves, he keeps up with the hobby and how it is still used today.
